Loonie nudges the dollar

The Canadian dollar hit 99 cents today as oil prices soared and gold remained strong.  The dollar rose as high as 99.18 cents before coming back to 98.15 cents following a report that inflation was at an eight month low in Canada.  The last time the loonie was this high, it wasn’t even called a loonie, November 25, 1976.  Now the wait is on and perhaps the bets begin to see just how long it takes before we are on par with greenback.
